SPP Named a Grid Innovator Winner, Recognizing Work as a Leading Grid Operator

SPP is proud to be honored recently by a peer group for excellence in innovations toward modernizing the power grid.

SPP was named Grid Innovator of the Year in the Grid Operator category by Grid Forward at its annual meeting. Grid Forward is member-based non-profit organization promoting grid modernization based in Portland, Ore.

The award acknowledges SPP's work advancing market design and grid flexibility, including the Consolidated Planning Process (CPP) and High Impact Large Loads (HILL) tariff frameworks that support faster integration of new generation and large, flexible loads.

It also recognizes SPP's use of AI enabled interconnection studies, developed with Hitachi and NVIDIA, aimed at helping cut analysis times by up to 80%, already in progress by other SPP initiatives.
